Same-Day CEREC Dental Crowns
Traditionally, dental crowns had to be done in two or more appointments, and patients had to wear temporary crowns while their permanent crowns were being designed in an off-site lab. With advanced CEREC technology, patients can now receive high-quality dental crowns in one convenient morning or afternoon—no temporary restorations required! What are the benefits of same-day dental crowns?
Patients tend to opt for a same-day crown because they:
- Restore teeth in one appointment
- Save money, time, and trips to our office
- Blend in flawlessly with surrounding teeth
- Fit securely, which helps prevent tooth decay
- Don’t require ill-fitting temporary crowns
How are same-day dental crowns made and placed in one day?
Ever wonder how a CEREC® crown can be designed, created, and placed in one day when traditional dental crowns can take weeks? The process is actually surprisingly simple.
- Digital Impressions — We start by taking digital impressions of your tooth using an advanced digital scanner. This eliminates the need for traditional molds and uncomfortable impressions.
- Design — Using computer-aided design (CAD) software, our skilled team can customize your crown virtually. We will then design your custom crown to match your natural tooth shape and color exactly.
- Milling — The designed crown specifications are then sent to our in-house milling machine. This machine crafts and “prints” the crown from a solid block of high-quality dental ceramic in a matter of minutes.
- Placement — Once the crown is ready, we immediately place it on your prepared tooth. Our experienced dental team will ensure a perfect fit and make any necessary adjustments for your comfort and bite alignment.
Are CEREC crowns durable?
Yes, CEREC crowns are highly durable. They are made from strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials that are known for their strength and longevity. CEREC crowns are designed to withstand the daily wear and tear of chewing and biting, just like natural teeth and traditional dental crowns. The precise digital design and milling process also ensures a snug fit and excellent bite alignment, enhancing their durability. With proper care, including regular oral hygiene practices and dental check-ups, CEREC crowns can last many years, often as long as traditional crowns.CONTACT US
