Do I need full or partial dentures?

Full dentures, also known as complete dentures, are used when all of the teeth in an arch are missing. They consist of a full set of artificial teeth attached to an acrylic base that rests on the gums. Full dentures are designed to restore both function and aesthetics, providing support for facial muscles and allowing for chewing, speaking, and smiling with confidence.

Partial dentures, on the other hand, are used when some natural teeth remain in the mouth. They consist of artificial teeth attached to a metal or acrylic framework that clasps onto existing teeth for support and stability. Partial dentures fill in the gaps left by missing teeth, preventing shifting and preserving the alignment of remaining teeth.

How long does it take to get dentures?

The timeline for getting dentures can vary depending on several factors, including the patient’s oral health, the type of dentures required, and any preparatory procedures needed. The process of getting dentures involves several steps, including the initial consultation, impressions and measurements, fabrication of the dentures, and fitting appointments. On average, it may take several weeks to complete the entire process and receive the final dentures. However, immediate dentures can be provided if you need a temporary solution while your permanent restoration is being fabricated.

Should I get dentures or dental implants?

Dentures can work well for patients who want a restorative solution that is less invasive and typically less costly than implants. However, our office also provides implant-supported dentures, which combine the benefits of dental implants and dentures to provide patients with a beautiful and functional restorative solution. Not sure which option is right for you? We recommend scheduling a consultation with our team so we can assess your preferences and needs and determine the best treatment option for you.
